Alright peeps, here's your chance to voice you musical opinions and help out the GDOG with his wedding at the same time.
What sweet assed tracks should gdog lay down?
I found a couple pages with some play list ideas.
http://www.weddingvendors.com/music/wedding_party_dances/
http://www.wedalert.com/songs/reception/index.asp
He's gonna need some sweet lovin' dance music to get the ladies all hot and bothered. Then he's gonna need some rockin' tunes, and some end of the night drunk make out music.
I'm voting for some GnR - November Rain...wait, no, on second thought the lyrics probably won't go over well at a wedding. Damn weddings gotta be all happy and stuff. LAME! ;)
Maybe some "99 problems but my bitch ain't one"?
The end of the night...

Okay, here's my 3 cents. (Yes, three.)
That first website's list is bunk. VETO!
The second one is better... I looked through the Rock/Alt section, which was okay, but not great. A lot of old shite interspersed with the odd decent song. And although some were good, like U2's "I still haven't found what I'm looking for", I'm not sure that's exactly the message you wanna be sending at your wedding.
I also took a look at the Top 40 list, which although still contains some inappropriate wedding tunes, see Three Days Grace "I hate everything about you", had a good mix of songs, no really old crappy songs. Has some stuff people will know at least.
But really I don't know, it's slim, slim pickins.
Posted by: midge on May 3, 2005 02:29 PMYou know what? After further consideration, I think those lists are all bunk. I vote that you, Scott, and I compile the songs instead--then we can have a truly rock out evening of boogying and making out.
Posted by: midge on May 3, 2005 02:36 PMAre you sure Scott will be ok with us making out? ;)
I agree, the lists suck. However, you have to consider the damn old people that are at weddings. Damn old people!
PS no offence to old people
Posted by: sm on May 3, 2005 03:25 PMOffend old people.. they suck.
But we need to add some japanese music to the mix... the soundtrack to final fantasy 9! And some puffy ami yumi.. like the theme song to teen titans! Why is it that all the japanese music i know of is related to anime... hmm....
Posted by: Peter on May 3, 2005 03:34 PMhow old are we talkin here? i'm sure we can please the over 40 crowd. a little rolling stones, a little joe cocker, maybe some really old skool tunes for the grandparents--tennessee waltz, blue moon of kentucky. i'm sure we could pull it together.
if it's out of the question, i'd vote for some combination of the Rock/Alt/Classic and Top 40 lists from that second sight. There's even a bit of country for the hicks.
Posted by: midge on May 3, 2005 03:48 PMthat should be site. not sight.
Posted by: midge on May 3, 2005 03:48 PMNothing's out of the question, but gdog get veto power ;)
Yeah, good call on the japanese music!

Word. and they'll probably leave the reception at like 8pm anyway to go to bed.
> gdog get veto power

Dude, all the weddings that I've been to it's the old people that party the hardest. I think all the seniors like having an excuse to party till 3am.
Posted by: rugged on May 4, 2005 05:21 AMDo whatever you want but this is what's happening at my wedding:
Kiss - I was made for Loving you.
On loop. All night long.
Best. Wedding. Dance. Party. Ever.
Posted by: jeremy on May 4, 2005 06:42 AMDidn't know that was an option. Consider it done mate.
