The Attic Part 2

We installed 4 pot lights in the ceiling, 5 plugs around the walls, a light switch, and insulation.
The electrical took 1 weekend, and the insulation took another.

Here's what the inside looks like now...

The Attic

In the quest for more sleeping space up at the cabin, we decided to turn the attic into a penthouse.
The main concerns are the headroom and the heat.
Here's a before shot. There was about 5'5" of headroom.

Screw you iTunes...Praise you ParvBob

OK, prehaps iTunes wasn't the original cause of my nasty problem, but it certainly wasn't the solution.

This BS all started just before Mother's Day when I wanted to make my mom a CD. I wanted to put some songs onto the CD from my ipod, and others that were not on my ipod.

Obvious solution: copy the required songs back to my PC and make the CD like I normally do. Uh...wait, friggin' ipod doesn't name song files the same as the song. It friggin' makes some random 4 digit song name. Retarded. Of course iTunes doesn't let you copy songs from your ipod back to your pc cause who would ever want to do that. So, I started searching for a 3rd party program that would let me do it. The most popular result on google seemed to be ephpod. I couldn't find any bad reviews so I installed it and copied over the songs I wanted.

Here's where $h&*t gets f*%#ed up! This ephpod dealy has some cool features so I figured I'd try using it for awhile. There was an option to make it the default ipod manager, so I clicked that. SCREEEECH...uh oh, bad move. I turn on my ipod and all my damn playlists are gone! I've got 2300+ songs rated and I can't friggin' play them. All that iTunes says is "your ipod is corrupt, please reset it to the factory defaults"...ie: erase your damn ipod and start from scratch. Bitches!!

Anyway, I tried a whole bunch of crap to fix it, but nothing worked. Thankfully Parv mentioned anapod to me the other day. I installed that bad boy, resync'd my playlists back to my ipod, and now everything is cool again. It even works with iTunes again :P

So, as a final big hairy middle finger, I'm gonna use anapod from now on...iTunes can lick me, and so can ephpod.

Thanks Parv :)

Ze Skylight

Man, this post is a little late in coming. Anyway, I was helping my Dad install a skylight in his kitchen back in March/April. It worked out pretty well. On most days you don't even need to turn on the kitchen lights anymore. We didn't actually install the skylight itself, a roofer did that. We just cut out the ceiling and and did the gyproc. It was just our luck that a gigantic wire running to the stove ran right across our skylight hole. We had to move that sucker.
