Hey all! Happy holidays, and all that! Well, as I was saying, I got a digital camera this year for Christmas, so there will be much more photoblogging happening. Here is the first installment--some photos are from my camera, some from Scott's and some from his mom's...
First, a couple of me opening presents on Christmas for my mom--it was my first Christmas away from home!
Next, here is me knitting a Christmas present for Scott's parents:
It's a wine cozy!
Check out the snow we got on Christmas!
Next up, a cool picture Scott's mom took on the drive back from Penticton on Christmas day:
Now, onto the Hollyspiel curling funspiel with Scott's family in Vernon on Boxing Day and the 27th. First, Scott throwing a rock:
Then a lot of sweeping:
Us and the opposing team from the last game:
Finally, some of the photos I took playing with my camera:
Besides that, just hanging in Vernon and working on a paper for now. Will be back in Van after New Years.

I got this email from a friend today, with photos of rednecks. They were pretty funny...I especially liked the Redneck Spoiler. Note the origin of the license plates...
Anyway, I'm heading to Vernon with Scott tomorrow. I already went for a short visit to S'toon last weekend, and had some dinner parties with the family friends, which was nice. Met Kirsti's new "special friend" (as her grandma puts it), who seems like a quality guy--yay! Had an early Solstice dinner with Tao's family too.
I got to open one of my Christmas presents early, and it was a digital camera that I'd asked for! As soon as I figure out how to use it, I will be a photo-posting madwoman, documenting my life for all to see...
For now, just trying to get organized for going away: finishing up Christmas shopping, laundry. Last yoga of the year tonight, and then drinks with the class afterwards.
Vernon will be family stuff, curling, lots of paper-writing, and maybe a bit of skiing too. Hopefully we'll get some nice winteriness--not too cold though, I had enough cold on the weekend!
Anyway, wherever you are, hope you have a good holiday, and a happy, healthy year to come. Love you all lots!

What a way to end the last week of classes. Brought up the papers, dropped them off, and by the time I made it to the other side of the building, I thought I might actually pass right out. Cut my losses and headed back home. I'm so exhausted. I thought I'd be alright, but I still have no energy from the lack of food during my 2 days of freakish sickness. And I say freakish, because I can't remember the last time I felt so bad I didn't eat for 2 days. Anyway, yesterday was better, and today I'm just tired.
And the Christmas craft fair was up! I didn't even get a chance to get anything. The regulars were there, the man who makes really nice (and pricey!) silver jewelry, the woman who makes all the handknit natural coloured wool stuff, the girl who makes the neat bags. Aw.
Oh well, I guess I've done the best I can. Now, a little break and then I must work on my paper until the Final marking. To be honest, working on this paper is going to be like a vacation compared to marking those papers. The only rough spot will be marking finals. Otherwise, should be *knock on wood* clear sailing from here on in.

Apparently...

That is so NOT me.
Is it?
At least I wasn't Novelty Eyelash. Ech.
Wanna find out what kind of yarn you are?
Did I mention that I finished marking the papers? Woot.
why was yesterday a horrible day?
i skipped class to mark more papers because i knew i wouldn't have time later on. at 2:30, i left to take my car in (because it needs to be reinsured in a week) to try and get it fixed for aircare. i got to the place, and it turned out the place had moved far away. i decided to go home after figuring out what had happened and calling the place. by the time i left, i was too late for my semi-important 3:15 meeting to make it to school, so i went home.
then, i blogged, followed by having a breakdown on the phone with my mom. i thought that was the worst of it, and the day was looking up when scott arrived home with really nice flowers to cheer me up.
but it was yet to get worse. i ate a bit of plain pasta and salad before going with scott to view an apartment downtown for 7:30pm, because my stomach was bothering me (it's been bothering me consistently as my stress level has been much too high lately due to school). we head out to see the place, and once we're getting towards downtown, my stomach starts cramping up.
i wasn't sure i was going to make it, but i grabbed the kleenex from the car, and made it to the washroom when we got to the place. yep, i had to have the runs right then. how embarassing. scott sacrificed going to get pizza on denman so that i could get back home asap. from then on, i was in and out of the bathroom until i went to sleep, with about the worst stomach cramps i can remember having. go ibs!
yes, for all those who didn't know, i am coming out about my stomach. i have had ibs since i was a kid, and it sucks, and it's been worse than usual this semester, culminating in the worst night of the semester, last night. my stomach is still cramping up this morning, so i'm not going to eat any solid food for a while.
and if you want any more details about the myriad ways in which stupid ibs makes my life a daily challenge, just let me know, it's a load of fun. maybe i will post about it sometime.
did i mention that i still need to either pass aircare or take my car in before the weekend, and mark 18 more stupid term papers by friday at noon?
AAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that is all for now.
