free bras--want em?

I have been having trouble finding good bras lately. Anyway, as a consequence of this, a while ago I got a couple bras from La Senza, and I never wear them (I've worn them for a max of about 10mins each, and have since hand-washed them, so they are clean). They are perfectly good, and practically brand new. You want em? I will mail them to you free of charge, just to have em put to use rather than wasted. Here they are:

The pink bra:
pinkbra.jpg
-lightly padded
-34B
-straps can be moved to be regular, x-back, halter, or single strap style
-nylon/spandex
-handwash, line dry

The black bra:
blackbra.jpg
-lightly padded
-34C (fits more like a B and a half)
-fixed straps
-cotton/spandex
-handwash, line dry

The reason I don't like them is cause I'd never worn bras with any padding, and find them really warm, just not really my thing. Otherwise, there's nothing wrong with them. Want one or both? Just let me know. If you feel bad not paying for them, send me a surprise, for instance a postcard or packet of veggie seeds, and you'll make my day!

First come, first serve, so rsvp asap if you want em.

homophobia is wrong.

I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.

I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.

I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.

We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.

I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.

I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I
wish they could adopt me.

I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.

I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.

We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.

I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.

I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman.

I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.

I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.

I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.

I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.

I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.

I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I didn’t have to always deal with society hating me.

I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.

I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.

Repost this if you think homophobia is wrong.

july garden blog

Just put up a new plant journal entry at You Grow Girl.

---------

A Slow July

Well, better late than never, here is my review of July?it consisted of more aphid infestation and finally planting the community garden plot (yay!)

Just after ridding my herb boxes of the green aphids that sucked the life out of the dill, a new breed decided to take up a spot. Black aphids! New to me, and just as nasty, if not worse than the green ones. They sucked my nasturtiums dry, and I soaped them and ripped out the worst bits, but they still managed to kill them in no time at all!

Can you see the little critters?

Here is a close up of the buggies contained in a ziplock?look at that plump one on the bottom, probably about to burst with a zillion little baby aphids, ugh!

But on a lighter note, we got out and weeded some of the community garden plot and got some veggies planted just in time. I?ll get some individual shots once they?re a bit bigger, but here is Scott and me working the plot:

Scott has impressed me, turning out to be a great gardener, and has actually taken a liking to working in the dirt? he especially likes weeding and gets a lot of satisfaction from it, what more could you ask for?

Hopefully we?ll get to harvest everything in the fall, since it doesn?t get too cold out here, and rarely frosts until much later. It won?t be the most productive summer, but it feels good to have *something* growing! As long as we keep the weeds somewhat at bay, and I don?t let things dry out too much?it?s been really hot since the rain stopped?I think we should get a decent little harvest!

Till next time!

july review

well, it took me a while to get around to posting the july photos, but better late than never, right?

before getting started, check out these sweet hubcaps we spotted on our way to mec several weeks ago:

pimp-tires.jpg

i don't remember when this was exactly, but after helping mark and deb pick out camping stuff at mec, scott and i headed to granville island to check out the tallship festival.

the main event of the month, of course was mark and deb's wedding on the island! a few shots:

a shot of the boys goofing around before the ceremony

me and scott all dolled up

i was given camera duty with mark and deb's digital camera for the rest of the festivities, though, so you'll have to check those out once their posted for the rest of the show!

we went kayaking with the wedding goers the day after the ceremony and then headed up the west coast of the island for a little camping:

we stopped at the sooke potholes on the way out of sooke to wash up a bit from kayaking (no showers at the campground), it was crazy hot out, so the place was hoppin':

we learned how much food colouring is actually in popsicles too

tried (unsuccessfully) to catch the sunset from jordan river, but still got some cool shots in the evening light:

a really cool looking drift log

seagulls watching the sunset

some kind of wild peas on the beach rocks

next day, we drove up to port renfrew and checked out botanical beach, even though it was only mid-tide
botanicalbeach-ak.jpg

scott slipped on the rocks when we were heading out, and got a foot full of gooey sea weed from a mucky tide pool.

that night at the campground--scott's wicked campfire building skillz

we saw kirsti briefly and then headed home to spend the rest of our week of vacay in van. went to lynn canyon park to cool off in the creek, checked out the east van farmers market that scott's brother has been raving about, and generally chilled out.

all in all, a good month!
